Finish up using the trailer: cooking, cleaning, restroom, etc. Turn off the water Flush excess water in toilet and close the lid Turn off all appliances: fridge, AC, etc. Turn off the propane Disconnect water and electric and store hoses/cords Close all windows and vents Turn antenna to travel position Secure all items in trailer Close awning Close the slide out Raise the steps Close the door and hand rail Ensure wheel chocks are in place Remove wheel locks Raise stabilizers Remove the hitch lock Open receiver latch Put the hitch on the tow vehicle Use the jack to raise the trailer high enough Use spotter to backup tow vehicle to trailer Put on the parking brake Turn off the vehicle Use the jack to lower the trailer Attach to the hitch ball receiver and lock Use the jack to raise the trailer enough to hookup up sway bars Attach the sway bars Use the jack to lower the trailer all the way: jack fully up Connect the safety chains: crossing underneath the tongue Connect the emergency break line Using the brake controller, plug the trailer into the tow vehicle Remove wheel chocks Turn on your vehicle Turn off the parking brake Switch to tow mode Use a spotter to check lights on trailer are working: turn signal, brakes, etc. Load the brake controller app Pull forward a bit Pick up leveling blocks and any other items on the ground Lock up all compartments/storage/doors Start driving slowly and test your trailer brakes

Ensure you are in position to reach utilities Ensure you have room for slide out Unlock storage Level the trailer from side to side Put on parking brake Chock the wheels Disconnect and store brake controller Disconnect safety chains and emergency brake cable Use jack to raise trailer to unhook sway bars Use jack to lower trailer to release hitch ball Use jack to raise trailer off the hitch ball Turn off parking brake and pull forward Turn off vehicle Use jack to level the trailer front to back Lower stabilizers Open door and lower steps: adjust if needed Open the slide out: check sides to ensure they are clear Hookup electric Hookup water Unhook and store hitch on tow vehicle Attach wheel locks Attach trailer hitch lock Put away all tools and close storage

If tank level is lower than half, add water if possible Line trailer up with dump station Put on gloves Extend sewer hose support (if you have one) Get out the sewer hose Attach hose end to dump station hole first Ensure both gray and black tank valves are closed Hold the open end of hose under the trailer's drain Open the cap and catch any drips Attach the hose securely to the trailer Open the black tank drain valve Wait for the draining sound to stop When water is available: use your the black tank flush for 3-5 minutes Close the black tank drain valve Open the gray tank drain valve Wait for the draining sound to stop Close the gray tank drain valve Ensure both the gray and black tank drain valves are closed Unhook the hose from the trailer keeping the end lifted up and catch any drippings Continue to lift the hose to force anything inside into the dump hole When water is available: rinse the inside of the hose allowing it to drain into the dump hole Remove the sewer hose from the dump hole Store the dump hose Close the travel trailer drain cap Take off gloves Sanitize your hands Clean the black tank by flushing the following down the toilet:

• 1/2 cup of Borax
• at least 3 gallons of water
• every 4-5 times also put in 1/2 cup of blue Dawn dish soap

Ensure valves are set to bypass water heater

Turn valve to pull from fresh water tank

Make sure fresh tank drain is closed Fill up the fresh water tank (at least halfway) Make sure the sink and showers are off Turn on water pump Wait for water pump to turn off Check for leaks under camper Go through each water source and run the cold water until you don't see any antifreeze (no pink)

• Do this for the outside shower, sink, bathroom shower, and toilet
• Keep an eye on your gray and black tank levels so you don't overflow them

Repeat this for each water source using the hot water Turn off the water pump Remove the water filter and dump out the antifreeze Put the water filter back in Empty your fresh water tank so it can be sanitized Combine 1/4 cup of bleach with 1 gallon of water per 15 gallons of fresh water tank

• We do 1/2 cup bleach 2 gallons of water for our 39 gallon tank

Pour the bleach mixture into fresh water tank Fill up the water tank with regular water until it is 2/3 full Turn on your water pump Go through each water source and run the hot and cold water until you can smell the bleach

• Do this for the outside shower, sink, bathroom shower, and toilet
• Keep an eye on your gray and black tank levels so you don't overflow them

Turn off the water pump Wait at least 4 hours

• It doesn't hurt to wait longer
• Also consider driving the camper around to slosh the bleach mixture around in your fresh water tank

After waiting at least 4 hours, drain your fresh water tank Fill up the fresh water tank with regular water until it is 2/3 full Turn on the water pump Go through each water source and run the hot and cold water until you can NOT smell bleach anymore

• Do this for the outside shower, sink, bathroom shower, and toilet
• Keep an eye on your gray and black tank levels so you don't overflow them

Turn off your water pump Remove the water filter and dump out the water Put the water filter back in Turn the hot water tank valves so it can draw water

Turn on the water pump Turn on the hot water in the sink so the tank starts filling Once you start getting water in the sink your heater is full

These are the items you will need for this method of winterizing:

• Air compressor with regulator
• 3 gallons of RV antifreeze
• Hose adapter for air compressor
• Hose adapter for tube to pull antifreeze into camper
• Tube for antifreeze

Make sure water pump is off and that you are not hooked up to city water Make sure your water heater is off and the water has cooled down Drain your white tank Empty gray and black tanks before starting I suggest also using the black tank flush for a good cleaning Stop and wait here if your water heater is still hot

• You could scald yourself and/or damage your water heater if you do this when it is still hot

Flip the water pressure relief valve on your water heater Stand to the side and remove the hot water heater plug (anode rod) Set your air pressure regulator to 30 PSI Hook the air compressor hose up to the city water intake valve Turn on the air compressor and wait for it to completely empty your hot water heater Turn off the air compressor Put the plug (anode rod) back in Put the pressure relief valve back in place Remove your internal water filter and put the canister back in place Turn the air compressor back on (remember max 30 PSI) Go to each water source (both hot and cold) and run each one until no more water comes out:

• Outdoor shower
• Kitchen faucet
• Indoor shower

In the shower, make sure to engage the shower head to empty that out hose Also in the shower, force any excess water in the tub down the drain so it is not sitting in the tub Turn off the air compressor and unhook it Turn the water heater valves to bypass it

Turn the intake valve to switch to the antifreeze inlet

Hook your antifreeze hose to the antifreeze intake valve Open the antifreeze bottle and put the other end of the hose in it Turn on the water pump and wait for it to turn off once it has built up pressure Go to each water source (both hot and cold) and run each one until solid pink comes out:

• Outdoor shower
• Kitchen faucet
• Indoor shower

As you do this, keep an eye on your antifreeze bottle and switch to a new one when it gets low Flush the toilet until you are pulling solid pink Remove the antifreeze hose from the camper Go to each water source (both hot and cold) and run each one until you are just getting air to come out:

• Outdoor shower
• Kitchen faucet
• Indoor shower

Turn off the water pump In the kitchen, briefly run the hot and cold sides to release any built up pressure in the lines Take the internal water filter canister out and pour half the antifreeze in it down the sink and the other half in the toilet (leave it on the top, don't flush it down) Put the internal water filter canister back in place Hook the air compressor up to the black tank flush Turn on the air compressor (max 70 PSI for this one) Wait a couple minutes then turn off and disconnect the air compressor Empty the gray and black tanks one last time
